So in today's video, I'm going to be going over the best ways to use total AV to protect yourselves when browsing the web and keeping your personal info guarded. Now when it comes to device protection, you've got a handful of options. The first feature is real time protection, you can find this by heading over to the Settings section on the left hand side and by clicking on the gear at the bottom and real time protection will be the third down. In essence, this keeps an eye out for potential threats on your devices all the time it's on by default, so you can turn it off. But really, it doesn't slow things down much you can customize it to scan however you want and determine how to deal with any viruses by checking out these options in the drop down menu. So you can fiddle with that how you see fits. The next part is a bit of a two for one. So the web shield feature flags sites that are considered risky or safe. And you can stay in settings to find it as it's the option just below real time protection. So how this works is that good sites are highlighted with a green tick. And it warns you about the risky ones with a red cross. Now to actually use web shield, you're going to need to download the total web shield browser extension. And I'm going to have the link to that down in the description below. So once you get to that step, check that out. And then you're going to be greeted with this screen. And so once you do get here, click on install, and after that's done its thing, you go to the top and you're gonna see a red checkmark. And so this is just total web shield checking you out and making sure that you are safe, and you're gonna see details as to what has been doing. So that's pretty neat. Also, once you download that, make sure you go back to your web shield settings and check that everything is enabled and in the blue just so you know that it's covering you fully. And also set the definition updates to be relatively frequent, because what this checks is whether there are any new viruses or malware that the software should be aware of and know what to look for. So just go to this drop down menu and make sure that it's between not really one hour, but one to six hours is ideal. Now if you've got the internet security or total security plans, you can use total AV Safe Browsing VPN to find it, you can go back to the left hand side of the interface, and it should be in the second row, which is the Internet Security tab. And then we'll be the first thing listed. What this does is secure your online traffic by routing it through a secure server in your chosen country. So you can find it in the same Internet Security tab second from the top and it will be the fourth feature listed. In essence, if there's any funny business with your credit card or personal details, they'll shoot you a quick heads up and if your identity gets compromised, they've got your back to help sort things out. What it broadly does is continuously monitor your credit card details, social security number, health insurance info and all the other things listed here to prevent personal details from being sold online. And if it identifies a breach, you'll be immediately notified and still even in a case where your identity is compromised total AV will provide full assistance when restoring stolen information.
