I cover learning CSS (and yes… CSS can get real tricky real quick), whether certifications actually matter for web development, and how to think through the self-taught vs bootcamp vs college decision. For CSS, I share the biggest mindset shift that helped me: your HTML foundation matters. When I finally slowed down and focused on semantic HTML (using elements with purpose—sections, articles, etc.), my CSS started to “flow” better, especially when it came to responsiveness and deciding between Flexbox and Grid. On certifications, I’m honest: for web development, I don’t think you need them. In my experience it comes down to what you can build—projects, portfolio, and being able to talk through your work. And yes, I still think you should learn to code in 2025. I’m not letting AI scare you off. Learn the skill, then add AI into your workflow. Industries shift, but coding is a skill no one can take from you—and I want you to be the person who kept going.
