Using a Planner That Actually Works

About This Video

This is easily my favorite thing right now: my “not Hobonichi Weeks” planner that I grabbed on Amazon for about $8. I used the real one in 2024, but at $40–$50, this dupe is more than enough for how I actually plan. What I love most is the simplicity—undated monthly layouts that I can fill in as the months go by, without the pressure of “falling behind.” On the monthly spread, I use the left column for bills (because checking them off is how my brain works), and I also keep a little wishlist area for items I notice during the month so I can revisit later and decide if I still want them. I’m a weekly girl, so the simple weekly layout is the main event for me. I use one side as a running brain-dump to-do list, and every Sunday I do a calm reset: I look at what didn’t get done and migrate it to the next week only if it’s still important. Right now I’m also following the 12 Week Year, so I organize my tasks under my current focuses—day trading, content growth, and my newsletter (The Sync)—so I’m doing work that actually moves the needle. I also made a custom cover in Canva and added extra note inserts from Amazon because the back pages weren’t enough for me.
