About This Video

In this video I’m sharing the exact ways you can start making money with only HTML and CSS—because honestly, I wish somebody had told me this back when I started learning around 2018/2019. At that time I was broke, pregnant, home with my kids, and trying to study my way into tech. If I had realized how much you can do with just the “bones” (HTML) and the styling (CSS), I could’ve been bringing in income while I was still learning the rest. I break down a few practical paths. First is web design using platforms like Squarespace, WordPress, Shopify, Wix, and Showit (I love Showit), where HTML/CSS gives you an edge with custom CSS and understanding structure, classes, and IDs. Then I talk about freelancing with HTML/CSS-only gigs—like maintaining existing sites, building small pieces, or supporting WordPress components—without needing JavaScript. I also cover HTML email templates (yes, tables), creating and selling educational resources (ebooks, guides, how-tos), and even consulting by auditing websites for structure, accessibility, UX, and performance. None of this is overnight, but the time is going to pass anyway—so you may as well build experience and income while you learn.
