The goal is always the same: keep students engaged and moving forward, not stuck and frustrated. I also share how I think about difficulty based on age. If your learners are younger, you can simplify the steps, reduce the number of pieces they have to decode, and make the pattern more obvious. If they’re older, you can layer the clue with an extra step or add a little misdirection—without turning it into a time-waster. And yes, I talk about hints, because in a live class you need a plan for what to do when someone gets stuck.
