About This Video

In this video, I show you how to make a simple digital matching (memory-style) game in Canva that you can drop right into your next Outschool lesson—without needing any fancy tech skills. I walk you through building the game board step-by-step, so you’re not staring at a blank Canva page wondering where to start. The goal is quick prep, high engagement, and a game you can reuse over and over. I also share a bunch of ways to customize the same matching template for different subjects—vocab words, definitions, math equations, pictures, you name it—so it works for multiple ages and topics. Then I explain how I run it live on Zoom by sharing my screen and using the game as a built-in discussion tool (not just a “click and move on” activity). If you want students talking, thinking, and staying engaged while you keep prep time low, this is one of my go-to strategies.
