I used to be the person who tossed yarn scraps because they felt too small to matter… until I started making scrap blankets and realized they’re basically the most satisfying stash reset ever. In this video, I walk you through my nostalgic scrap blanket step-by-step, based on “My Coziest Memories” by Erica from The Lopsided Crafter. I had the honor of pattern testing it a few years ago, and I’m sharing the exact tweaks I kept because they made the blanket feel sturdier, smoother, and (in my opinion) more enjoyable to crochet. I show you how I work the squares, why I crochet through all three loops of the half double crochet for a denser, cozier texture, and how I changed the corner decreases so the turns behave the way I want them to. I also explain why I reduced the square size from 15 stitches per side to 12—because scraps are precious, and I’d rather get more squares (and more progress) out of what I already have.
