He announces Amazon S3 Vectors, the first cloud object store with built-in vector support. S3 Vectors enables storing and searching massive vector data sets with the cost-effectiveness of S3, providing sub-second query performance for infrequent workloads. It integrates natively with Bedrock knowledge bases and Amazon OpenSearch Service, enabling a tiered vector strategy that can reduce costs by up to 90% compared to alternatives. Sivasubramanian introduces Kiro, a new agentic IDE that reimagines the developer interface. Kiro helps developers go from concept to production through a simplified experience that combines natural language prompting with proper software engineering practices. It allows for quick development of software specifications using natural language, transforms static documents into living self-documenting sources of truth, and includes Agent Hooks for event-driven automation. He also discusses Amazon Q Developer, an AI coding assistant that integrates with existing IDEs or can be used from the command line. Q Developer is evolving to become increasingly agentic, with new features like expanded MCP support, real-time code suggestions across 25+ languages, automated multi-file features, and intelligent code reviews.
