Rohit Prasad, SVP and head scientist at Amazon AGI, presents Amazon Nova, AWS's family of frontier models introduced in December. Prasad details how the Nova family has expanded to eight models in just over six months, including Nova Act for building intelligent browser-based agents, Nova Sonic for voice applications with multilingual support, and Nova Premier, their most advanced multimodal model. Prasad announces a significant enhancement for Nova models: comprehensive customization capabilities on SageMaker AI covering all stages from pre-training to post-training. This includes various customization methods like parameter-efficient fine-tuning, direct preference optimization, continued pre-training, and model distillation. He highlights that Nova Act, which enables developers to build agents that take action in web browsers, has achieved end-to-end task completion rates above 90% on enterprise use cases after improvements through fine-tuning and reinforcement learning.
