In this video, I show you how I clean my car/auto at home using a simple garden watering pipe spray (hose spray gun). You don’t need an expensive pressure washer for a proper wash—if you use the right nozzle pattern and the right order. I start with a pre-rinse from the top and work downward, because the main goal is to remove loose dust and grit before you touch the paint. That one step alone helps reduce swirl marks and scratches. Then I explain which spray settings I use for different areas: “Jet” for wheels, wheel arches, and stuck mud, and “Shower/Mist” for safer rinsing on the paint. If your spray gun has a soap bottle/foam attachment, you can use a pH-neutral car shampoo; otherwise, just do it with a microfiber mitt. I also show the “sheet rinse” idea—using a gentler flow (or removing the nozzle) so water sheets off faster, which helps reduce water spots. Finally, I always dry immediately with a clean microfiber towel, because hose water minerals can leave marks if you let it air-dry.
