In this video, I show you the exact setting inside the Zoom desktop app that controls where your local recordings get saved. By default, Zoom loves to dump everything on your main drive (usually C: on Windows), and that’s why a lot of people suddenly see storage getting eaten up after a few meetings—especially if you record in HD. I walk you through opening Zoom, going into Settings, switching to the Recording tab, and using the “Change” option next to “Store my recordings at” to pick a better folder. I also explain why this small change fixes real problems: if your C: drive is low, Zoom can fail to convert the recording at the end and you’ll get “not enough disk space” or conversion errors. My recommendation is to move the recording path to a bigger internal drive, an external HDD/SSD, or even a cloud-synced folder like OneDrive/Google Drive if you want automatic backup. And if you record different projects, I show the option to prompt you for a save location after each meeting so your files stay organized without manual sorting later.
