In this video, I’m walking you through my Transportation Week lesson plans for preschool and pre-k—an entire week of calm, fun, play-based learning that still hits the skills we need. I break down what I put in each center area (Math, Literacy, Art, and Science) so you can picture exactly how it runs in a real classroom. Everything is hands-on and developmentally appropriate, and I include directions plus simple assessment recording sheets so you can track skills without turning centers into worksheets. For math, I’m focusing on counting, number recognition, tracing, shapes, and early ordinal concepts with activities like Drive the Number Roads, In the Air Ordinals, Domino Parking Lot, Count & Clip, and Floating Boats Fill & Count. For literacy, we’re practicing letters, sounds, vocabulary, rhyming, and even movement with centers like the Things That Go emergent reader, Alphabet Parking Lot, Letter & Sound Match Boats, and Sit & Scoot Alphabet. Then I round it out with art and science ideas like Land/Sea/Air sorting, toilet tube planes, paper plate hot air balloons, propellers, and magnetic tracks—because transportation themes are perfect for STEM, fine motor, and creativity all in one week.
