In this Eternal Road clear, I went back (again) to test SSP Barbatos Lupus in a real situation, because SSP’ing Lupus is expensive and I wanted to see if it can actually put in work as a melee unit—specifically with Shin to chase that “can we one-shot?” feeling. I also messed around with using its own battleship, but it just didn’t really work the way I wanted for clean one-shot setups, so I had to build around it with support. A big part of this run is understanding how the enemy AI behaves: it targets the lowest HP unit, so I couldn’t just bring random low-HP supports without getting punished. On team two, I did a quick revisit of G-Falcon Double X because the unit is just cool and I wanted an excuse to use it again while still clearing. That meant more HP-threshold planning (Freedom as support, careful positioning, minimizing how many enemies can hit me, and setting up MP stages for Shin’s effect). I had a couple “I’m cooked” moments—especially when I hit a map attack at the wrong time—but we stabilized, got the kills, and got good damage numbers overall. Takeaway: SSP Lupus is pretty good, DX is pretty good, and the right support/HP management matters as much as the raw unit power.
