About This Video

In this local store tourney run, I’m back on the blue/purple hybrid again because, honestly, it just feels pretty consistent for the limited time I get to go out and play. I walk through my updated list and why I made the changes—most importantly jamming in four Barbatos Adapt, which I think is basically mandatory now. It lets me ping myself to turn on effects when I need it, and it also gives me that extra reach to ping the opponent. I also tested Full City, but I didn’t really get enough reps drawing it to give a real verdict yet. And yeah, I’m on Barbatos Lupus (not Rex—we don’t have that yet), but I’m only running two since blue/purple doesn’t have a ton of Tekkadan fuel to consistently feed it. Match-wise, I cover four rounds: a newer player on a rougher starter-style build (not really a fair fight), a grindy match into a buddy on Clen where both of us were basically top-deck begging for pilots, then a scary aggressive ZAP deck that tried to deny my first form draw and rush me down, and finally Wing Zero where I had to race the clock before big blockers made me fizzle. One of my biggest takeaways is pilots matter a lot in this build—so I bumped up to 10 pilots to support pair effects (like NT-1/NTD lines) and to avoid those games where I’m just fishing for “anything.”
