I’m back on GD03 Steel Requiem, and this time I’m finally sitting down at home for my fifth box instead of ripping packs in a card shop off pure “new set” adrenaline. Boxes two through four weren’t the worst, but they definitely felt disappointing because the SV/SP chase started feeling like a straight-up physical gacha. Going into this box, I’m mostly done with the set—commons/uncommons are basically bulk for me now—so the real goal is simple: hit something meaningful on the high rarity slots and pray the SP isn’t another “constellation prize” situation. In the early packs I’m mostly calling out duplicates and meta thoughts, like Providence being a second copy but not really saving Zap from what Japan’s early results are showing. I do pull stuff I’m happy to see—Barbatos, an Exia I actually needed, and I finally finish my copies of The O. I also pull Awaken Potential again (second time for me), and I talk about how I usually sell/trade alts because I’m not the type to bling out my decks. Then the moment happens: I hit the SP I actually wanted—Battle of Aces—and I’m genuinely stoked because it’s finally a non-pity, non-“bad SP” pull for me. The box ends with a rough Ken+ that felt like a troll, but overall? Between Battle of Aces and the other hits, I’m walking away happy.
