In this video I take my 2023 Giant Reign Advanced Pro—normally my go-to enduro rig—and start transforming it into something I can actually take bike packing. I’m based in New Zealand and I’m always keen to see how far I can push one bike to do multiple jobs, so this one’s all about making a big-travel trail weapon more practical for long days and loaded-up riding. I run through the idea of what needs to change when you go from smashing trails to carrying gear: thinking about comfort over distance, setup choices that make sense for pedalling, and the general approach of keeping it simple and functional so it’s still fun to ride.
