I headed over to Banyuwangi in East Java, Indonesia to try ride what’s meant to be one of the best downhill MTB tracks in the country — the Banyuwangi Ijen Geopark Downhill. This video is basically me turning up, getting a feel for the place, and sending a proper run down the track to see if the hype’s real. If you’re into steep, fast trail riding and that “new zone” travel vibe, this one’s for you. I’m riding it like I ride anywhere else: test the grip, build speed where it makes sense, and stay loose when the track gets spicy. The main takeaway is that Indonesia has some seriously legit downhill riding if you’re willing to get out there and explore. If you’re planning a trip, I’d say come prepared to ride hard, take in the scenery, and treat it like an adventure — because that’s exactly what it is.
