In this video I kick off the full tear down of my 14-year-old budget jump bike, and it’s the “final time” I’m pulling it apart before it gets a proper transformation. I’m not doing a quick tidy-up either—this is the start of a complete rebuild where I strip it down so I can see exactly what I’m working with and what’s worth keeping. It’s that classic old-bike situation: it’s had a long life, it’s been through a lot, and now it’s time to rebuild it into something that actually matches how I want to ride. Because this is a budget jump bike project, the whole point is being smart with parts and effort—getting the most out of what I’ve already got, and only upgrading where it makes sense.
