In this video I’m jumping into my very first bikepacking mission here in New Zealand, and I’m doing it on my 2023 Giant Reign Advanced Pro. I’m usually all about big trails, downhill runs, and the chaos of a proper ride day, so loading the bike up and heading out for an overnight-style adventure was a whole new vibe for me. It’s less about smashing laps and more about seeing where the bike can take me when you’ve actually got to carry what you need. I take you along for the attempt—what I’m riding, the general plan, and the reality of doing “first time” things on a big enduro rig. If you’re curious about bikepacking but you’ve been putting it off because it seems complicated, this is basically me proving you can just start and figure it out as you go.
