In today’s video I finally review the one Victoria Beckham Beauty Eye Wardrobe I never got around to: Bordeaux. It’s an older launch, but so many of you asked me to still cover it—and a subscriber even gifted me the funds to complete my collection, so thank you again. I swatch the entire palette and compare it directly to the newer Orchid palette, and I also swatch it next to Lid Lustre in Tea Rose because that specific comparison was requested. And of course, this wouldn’t be complete without swatching it against the Satin Kajal in Bordeaux, since this Eye Wardrobe is clearly built around that liner. Bordeaux is noticeably deeper than Orchid and can run smoky, so I show you how I made it more flattering on me the second time around: I mapped the eye with the two mattes to create a lifted, cat-eye shape, used the coppery shimmer on the lid (it’s warmer and deeper than you might expect), and placed the red shade along the lower lash line before finishing with the Bordeaux kajal. My takeaway: the look can be really pretty and surprisingly wearable, but I personally would’ve loved a lighter shade for more dimension on my skin tone. If you love the Lid Lustre formula, you’ll probably enjoy these shimmers too—just know Tea Rose is close enough to a shade in Orchid that I don’t think you need both.
