About This Video

On the channel I’ve been hunting for “the” $100 keyboard—the one that gives you the most value without feeling like a toy. In this video I put Epomaker’s Galaxy80 in the ring (right next to my other $100 favorite, the YUNZII AL66) and I tested it the way I actually use keyboards: gaming, productivity, and straight-up typing for about a month. I break down what you get in the box, the TKL layout (which is slowly becoming my personal layout of choice), and the features that honestly surprised me at this price—gasket mount, hot-swap support for 3/5-pin switches, and multiple connection modes (wired, 2.4GHz, Bluetooth). The aluminum case quality is the best I’ve felt in this budget range, and the Marble White switches are pre-lubed with a pretty substantial amount of lube. Sound-wise, to my ears it’s like bubble wrap being popped—super pleasant. But I also talk about the stuff that brings it down for me: the MDA keycaps (I’d swap to Cherry profile ASAP), the larger-than-usual footprint for a TKL, and the connection issues I ran into on Mac over Bluetooth and the dongle. My final rating is “wait for a sale,” and I explain exactly who I think this board is perfect for—especially if you grab the barebones kit and build it your way.
