About This Video

After a long day, I think a lot of us just want that hit of nostalgia—and the Anbernic RG35XX genuinely made me fall back in love with gaming all over again. In this review I go over the big stuff people actually care about: what you get for the money, how it feels in the hand, what it can (and can’t) emulate, and whether it’s worth buying in 2026 when original retro hardware prices are just… painful. I break down the core features like the 3.5-inch 640x480 4:3 display (perfect for classic games), the roughly 6-hour battery life, and the fact that it’s basically capped at PS1-era gaming (no N64). I also talk about the real-world experience: the buttons feel good for a budget handheld, it’s insanely portable, USB-C charging is a win (but the charging cable compatibility is picky), and the triggers can rattle and feel awkward for L2-heavy PS1 games. If you want to go deeper than the stock experience, I recommend setting it up with a custom OS like GarlicOS—because the UI, themes, and overall vibe get way slicker once you do it right.
