Sometimes quick and simple alterations are all you need to have a custom wardrobe you love EVEN when you aren't able to sew them entirely yourself. This is the first part of my endeavor to buy some new clothes and make them work for me. This week some very simple mends and alterations give me 5 new items to wear. Things did not work out as I planned, so I am splitting this up and will show more in a future episode! *Sign up for my free newsletter and get the inside track on my projects between posts! https://show-and-tell-meg.kit.com/42e7a0498d //My Social Media\\ Blog: ShowandTellMeg.blogspot.com/ Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/people/showandtellmeg Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/showandtellmeg/ Email: showandtellmeg(at)gmail.com Look Busy by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

About This Video

In this video I’m sharing my sewist secrets for buying clothes and then making them actually work for my body with quick, simple alterations. Sometimes I don’t have the time (or honestly the energy) to sew an entire wardrobe from scratch, but I still want pieces that feel custom and that I’m excited to wear. So this is part one of my little experiment: I went out, picked up some new-to-me items, and then did a handful of very basic mends and tweaks to turn them into five wearable pieces. I’m keeping it super practical—this is about the kind of fixes you can knock out without turning it into a full-blown refashion project. Think small changes that make a big difference, the kind of stuff that helps you get the fit and function you want so the clothes don’t just sit in your closet. And yes, things did not go exactly to plan, so I’m splitting this series up and I’ll show the rest in a future episode.
