And it was five dollars. In this video I bring you along for the whole “is this real life?” process—getting it home, opening everything up, and figuring out whether I just scored the deal of the century or adopted a very cute (but very dead) decoration. I unbox what’s inside the case, give the machine a careful clean-up, and then we do the real test: can it actually sew? I talk through what I’m looking for as I go—basic condition checks, what I’m hoping to see when I peek at the machine, and the little clues that tell you whether a thrifted vintage machine has a fighting chance.
