Qustodio and Norton Family were nightmares to configure, with dated apps and clunky iOS behavior. After eliminating the usual suspects, it came down to Aura vs. Bark. Aura is hands down my top pick for most iPhone families because it sets up in about five minutes, plays nicely with iOS and Family Sharing, blocks 28+ content categories cleanly, and gives simple reports without drowning you in noise. Bark is technically impressive, but it’s enterprise-level monitoring with a steep setup and constant tweaking—overkill for most families.
