About This Video

I booked a cheap flight to Japan at 2:00 a.m. and somehow ended up in Tokyo for the first time with only a few days to do everything on my bucket list. This vlog is basically me speed-running the city in the coziest way possible: starting with what might’ve been the best meal of my life (fatty bluefin tuna with insane marbling that I still think about every day), then bouncing through Akasaka (my super central hotel location), Meiji Jingu, and Harajuku. Meiji Jingu genuinely surprised me—everything felt so grand and peaceful, and I got weirdly emotional reading people’s wishes on the wooden plaques. Harajuku was adorable, but Tokyo lines are no joke, so I had to learn (again) that sometimes it’s not worth sacrificing half your day for something viral. The main event was the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo: Making of Harry Potter—lifesize sets, the Great Hall, the Ministry of Magic, butterbeer, and so many people fully dressed up with robes and wands. I end the day in Shinjuku, where Tokyo at night feels like a completely different city. After ~30,000 steps, I found a tiny noodle stand in Memory Lane and had the most satisfying bowl of tempura soba for about 500 yen—simple, warm, and the perfect ending.
