About This Video

I graduated from UBC Computer Science (yes, I checked my grades first lol) and filmed the whole day from “t-minus 5 hours” to walking across the stage. I was honestly feeling sentimental and a little nervous—partly because it’s the end of being a student, and partly because I’m shy and was fully spiraling about tripping on stage or looking stupid. I also revisited my first-year dorm and talked about how different university felt compared to high school, especially when I went from chasing 95s to just trying to keep a 75% average for my scholarship. In the middle of the vlog, I speedrun my CS degree and answer the big question: was computer science worth it (especially looking ahead to 2026)? For me, yes—but only if you’re also learning and doing extracurriculars outside of class. The degree requirements alone aren’t enough to make you a strong hire, but school gave me the foundation that made internships and the job process possible. I also share my regrets (I wish I said yes more, talked to more people, and trusted myself sooner) and the reminder I needed too: it’s never too late to make friends, challenge yourself, or start living your life more fully.
