About This Video

In this video, I’m taking you along on a cozy “get my life together” kind of day and sharing exactly how I stay productive as a computer science student at UBC—especially when I really don’t feel like studying. The biggest mindset shift for me is breaking big goals into tiny daily tasks. That’s how I made my FAANG internship goal feel achievable: instead of obsessing over the end result, I focused on things like doing a few LeetCode questions and job applications every day. I also talk about doing the hard stuff first (my mom’s “needs before wants” rule), and my favorite low-effort time management tool: literally just the timer app on my phone. I’ll timebox chapters and “race the clock,” which helps me start faster and take breaks without spiraling. I share how AI tools have seriously changed my productivity—summarizing textbook chapters, autofilling job apps, and explaining confusing ML concepts in simpler words. When motivation is low, I change my scenery, use a specific “work mode” playlist to kickstart focus, and eliminate distractions by turning off notifications (or even grounding myself with Screen Time). And I end with a reminder I really needed too: life happens, and you don’t need to beat yourself up if you can’t do everything perfectly.
