About This Video

I tested the KiiBOOM Phantom81 Lite the way you’d actually use it—no hype, no sugar coat, just straight up facts. In this video I go through the full unboxing (really solid packaging), what you get in the box (printed cable, puller, extras, dust cover, cloth), and then I break down the design: glossy ABS case, flippy feet, dongle storage, and the toggle switch placement on the top-left. Then I jump into the specs that matter: south-facing LEDs, KiiBOOM linear Mochi switches, hot-swap sockets, plate-mounted stabilizers, VIA/QMK compatibility, and a 4000mAh battery. The best part is the sound and feel. This board has a gasket-mounted structure with multiple sound-dampening layers, and the bounce is honestly cloud-like—this keyboard sounds like therapy. I also open it up and show the internals: silicone walls around the frame, foam coverage that actually fills the space (huge W), springs under the gaskets for that extra flex, and how everything stacks together. I’m also real about the downsides: it’s a screwless plastic case, which I generally don’t enjoy because it can get damaged if things go south (even though opening it was surprisingly quick). My verdict: around $105 it’s pretty okay, but if you find it under $100, don’t think twice.
