Among budget mechanical keyboard brands, RoyalKludge usually stands out for me, and the RK R65 has been on my radar for a long time—plus a lot of you requested it. In this video, I do what I always do: a real, no-sugar-coating review of the RoyalKludge R65 wireless keyboard, covering the build, switch feel, typing sound, RGB, and the small quirks people conveniently ignore. I also show what you actually get in the box (including a dust cover and even a little pick that’s meant to help with opening the case for modding). I go over the basics like tri-mode connectivity, magnetic dongle storage, battery check shortcut (Fn + Enter), and how the board holds up after a week of use—my unit was sitting around 50% after starting roughly at 60–70%. Then I do a full teardown: 3,750 mAh battery, silicone layer, proper PCB foam density, a PC plate, and the gasket implementation with multiple foam layers plus a thin protective film. I also call out a big issue: the product pages are confusing and sometimes straight-up inaccurate, especially with the old vs refreshed R65 variants. Even with that mess, the keyboard itself is really solid for around $45, and VIA support gives it a legit edge over a lot of competitors.
