If you’re a gamer, you’ve probably had that annoying moment where your mouse smacks into your keyboard mid-aim, or your setup just feels cramped—especially on a laptop. In this video I review the KiiBOOM Cybrix29 HE, a compact 29-key, half-split, one-handed Hall Effect keyboard that’s built specifically to save desk space and give you more aiming freedom. I go over the packaging, accessories, build quality (metal frame, acrylic back, light bars, and three tactile knobs), and I also check out the web software. It’s basic and does the job, but you’ll need a little time to get used to the layout. Then I get into the stuff people actually care about: sound and feel. I did a real sound test and I was genuinely surprised—these Otimu Hall Effect switches sound deep and almost mechanical, and in my comparison the Cybrix29 HE sounded deeper than the community-favorite Aula F75, which is kinda insane. I also opened it up (screws hidden under rubber grips), checked the internals like the FR4 plate and PET sheet, and did a simple ergonomics mod using 3D printed MX tilters plus clear keycaps. My final take: it’s a great gaming board and I’m using it as my daily driver, but the lack of height adjustment is the main downside, and the $90 price is debatable depending on your use case.
