Low profile keyboards are getting super popular, but a lot of the “good” options are heavy aluminum and not exactly budget-friendly. So in this video I reviewed a lightweight, budget low profile board from RoyalKludge (RK N80) that also has a special knob and a small display. I go through what you actually get in the box (and I also explain that my unit is a test unit, so your retail box should include extras like switches, a manual, and a dust cover). Then I break down the build quality (plastic but surprisingly solid with almost no flex), ports and features like tri-mode connectivity, a 3750 mAh battery, USB dongle storage, dual Type‑C (including a USB hub port), and RGB—which honestly looks brighter than I expected for the price. After a real sound test, I tear the board down to show the internal dampening layers and the areas I wasn’t fully happy with (like seeing PCB/wires through holes and the stock sound being a bit sharp and rattly). Then I do simple, practical mods: stabilizer tuning with dielectric silicone grease, adding a foam layer between PCB and switches, and a two-layer tape mod—while calling out the pain points (this case is tight, took me ~20 minutes, and yes, I bruised my fingers). Final verdict: for the budget price, the feature list and build are impressive, and even though stock sound isn’t amazing, you can fine-tune it into a softer, deeper tone with basic mods.
