A talk by Norman Saarso from Singleton at Digit 2022 Software is rarely made for just creating software per se. Software always exists in (business) context. In most cases it's meant to solve some problems humans have, and usually there is some business or organisation that has an interest to invest resources in developing the software. For a developer building software, this context opens up a lot of possibilities to be a more valuable player than plain technical competence would allow. This talk looks into some thinking patterns, approaches and skills that would allow even a mediocre developer to become a key figure in most of the projects and/or teams she is involved in.
