Today I’m taking you with me to La Cumbrecita, this super charming little village in the hills of Córdoba, Argentina—and yes, it really feels like you’re stepping into a mix of Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands… but you’re still in Argentina. It was my first time and I was so looking forward to it, even though we arrived on a long weekend holiday and the queues were real. One of the most interesting things is that it’s a pedestrian town: you leave your car at the entrance and then you walk everywhere, so comfortable shoes are a must. We walked down into the village (it’s like you’re “in a hole in the hills,” not on top), crossed the cutest bridge by the river, and I basically kept saying “so charming” because that’s exactly what it is. I went up to El Mirador (cardio, guys) because some areas are too adventurous for a stroller, and then we headed to La Olla, where people actually swim if you bring a suit. We also found hidden foodie gems—like a zarzamora (wild berry) lemonade and an empanada-style mushroom-and-cheese snack—and visited a tiny chapel from 1967 that smelled like old wood in the most nostalgic way. We ended the day feeling super lucky with our timing, and I can honestly say it was affordable, beautiful, and 100% worth adding to your Argentina list.
