We’re only a few short weeks away from the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and the merch is already popping up everywhere—so I had to take a closer look at one of the coolest RC Mario toys I’ve seen in a while: the Hot Wheels RC Mario Wheelie Motocross. Hot Wheels is bringing Mario back to the RC world, but this time he’s trading four wheels for two, and the result is a remote-controlled motocross bike that’s genuinely fun to drive around the house. In this video, I break down the design (because yes, it’s absolutely display-worthy) and then I put the actual RC performance to the test. It’s a full-function RC with forward/reverse and solid steering, but the main event is the shoulder button that pops Mario into a wheelie stunt—front wheel up, balancing on the back like he’s showing off for the crowd. It’s surprisingly stable, pretty zippy on smooth floors, and it even glides over thinner carpet. Bonus: Mario leans and tilts his head into turns, which makes it feel way more animated than most RC toys. USB-C charging on the bike, AA batteries for the controller, no app nonsense—just turn it on and have fun.
