These are the Sony WF-1000XM6, and in this review I put Sony’s latest flagship true wireless earbuds through my real daily routine—music, work calls, light travel, long editing sessions, and yes, gaming on my Nintendo Switch 2. Sony improved basically everything the 1000X lineup is known for: comfort, sound, noise cancellation, battery life, touch controls, and multi-point Bluetooth. Even the unboxing felt premium, and after a few weeks of use, I can honestly say these might be the best wireless earbuds you can buy right now. The biggest surprise for me is comfort. They look a little big, but they’re lightweight and super balanced, and once you dial in the right ear tip seal, they just do not fall out. That seal also unlocks the best performance—richer sound, tighter bass, and a noticeable jump in ANC. I also prefer Sony’s touch controls over clicking AirPods stems, and the case stays compact with USB‑C and wireless charging. I also compare them to AirPods Pro 3. If you live in Apple’s ecosystem, AirPods are still the seamless pick—but in my ears, the XM6 fit more securely, sound fuller, and the ANC feels slightly stronger. Add in multi-point that works across iPhone, MacBook Pro, and Switch 2, and the XM6 are an easy recommendation if you want one pair of buds that can handle pretty much everything.
