It’s barely March and I’m already calling it: Spin Master’s Hatchin’ Yoshi from the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie is a legit Toy of the Year contender. In this video, I unbox it and show the whole “hatch your own Yoshi” experience—because this isn’t just a Yoshi figure, it’s a moment. You interact with the egg by tapping it, moving it, even carrying it around, and it starts rocking side to side like something magical is about to happen… then it cracks open and Yoshi pops out with lights, sounds, and that classic “Yoshi!” that hits you right in the nostalgia. After the hatch, I test the interactive reactions: pat his nose or head and his eyes light up, he rocks when he’s excited, and the more you mess with him, the more expressive he gets. The hatch itself is a one-time thing, but I love that the bottom half of the egg becomes a display stand—perfect next to a Switch setup or on a shelf. Design-wise, the sculpt is clean, the colors pop, and the expressions are on point, which is why I think kids will love the wow factor and adults (yeah, us) will love the collectible display appeal.
