The Daisy Seed Changed How I Design My Synths

The power of the Daisy Seed microcontroller is forcing me to rethink one of my core design rules: ultra-slim, Eurorack-style modules at all costs. In this video, I show how I redesigned my drum synth as a compact desktop unit instead. It’s still modular, still DIY, and still small — but now I have the physical space to properly lay out 16 inputs, outputs, and controls without cramming everything into an uncomfortable form factor. This shift isn’t about giving up on modular thinking. It’s about letting the hardware breathe. The larger format gives me better ergonomics, cleaner layouts, and a much bigger creative canvas — including more freedom to hand-paint and visually design the instrument itself.
