This video shows the current state of my compact Eurorack-style modular drum system, built around Daisy Seed microcontrollers. I start with a full sound demo of what I’ve built so far: Two dual-voice modules Kick and snare Industrial percussion voices I call Doom and Grindhat After the demo, I give a quick status update on the project — what modules exist, how they’re wired, and where the system is at right now. Then I get into the real question driving this video: Should I continue generating drum sounds from raw synthesis on the Daisy Seed… or pivot to a more sample-based approach? I talk through: What’s working (and what isn’t) with synthesized drums The limits I’m running into when pushing raw synthesis Why sample-based drums might make more sense for the next module How I’m thinking about designing that next module if I make the switch This isn’t about abandoning the project — it’s about refining the architecture so the system sounds better, scales better, and stays fun to build. If you’re into: DIY synths Eurorack-style modular design Daisy Seed development Drum synthesis vs sampling Industrial / experimental percussion …this video is very much for you. #DaisySeed #DIYsynth #ModularSynth #Eurorack #DrumSynthesis #SampleBasedDrums #MusicTech #IndustrialMusic #SynthDIY #EmbeddedAudio #ElectronicMusic #DrumMachine
