This winter has been brutal, and we frequently lose power. I needed an emergency way to keep my baby chicks warm without electricity to power the heat lamp in the brooder. I started a fire int he fireplace and am keeping the chicks close. Though this was an emergency situation, this method could be adapted to a no power brooder in an off-grid situation.
