I Built a Soothing “Aurora” Instrument in Python (It Plays Itself)

I wanted something that’s genuinely relaxing to watch and listen to, but still visually “sticky” enough for longform videos and Shorts. So I built a generative visual instrument in Python. This program simulates drifting fireflies inside an aurora-like flow field. When they cross invisible curved “strings,” they trigger soft bell tones in a musical scale. The visuals respond gently to the music with glow, trails, and slow mood shifts, with no flashing or harsh effects. Built with Python, Pygame, and NumPy.
