How to Tell When Mushroom is Ready to Fruit

How can you tell that your mushrooms are ready to fruit? Is it time to cut a hole in the substrate myco bag and start fresh air exchange (FAE)? It can sometimes be difficult to tell when mycelium has fully colonized a bulk subtrate and is ready to start fruiting and produce edible mushrooms!
