In a previous video, I documented a serious USB communication issue with several of my Daisy Seed microcontrollers. Half of my boards had stopped being recognized by Windows, and I was understandably concerned about long-term reliability. In this update, I cover two things: A potential partial fix that may work for some users Open Device Manager Enable “Show Hidden Devices” Expand “Ports (COM & LPT)” Uninstall all grayed-out COM devices This resolved the issue for one of my boards. Electro-Smith’s response I contacted them directly We walked through troubleshooting steps They determined there was no easy recovery for the remaining boards They sent replacement units I wanted to make this update because it’s important to be accurate and fair. While the USB issue is real and frustrating, I also want to acknowledge when a company responds professionally and stands behind their product. If you’re experiencing Daisy Seed USB recognition problems, this video may help — and hopefully gives some reassurance about support. #DaisySeed #ElectroSmith #USBIssue #Microcontroller #EmbeddedSystems #DIYsynth #WindowsFix #COMPort #HardwareTroubleshooting #MakerCommunity
