About This Video

hii, im ysha ♡ in this cozy little video i’m trying out watercolors for the first time in a while and just letting it be a super chill painting process. i unbox the MeiLiang 52-color set (huge thanks to Paul Rubens for sending it!), then i do a full swatch moment so i can see how the colors look on paper before i commit to any spreads. i always feel like swatching first makes everything less intimidating—like ok, we’re just playing. after that, i do a couple warm-up sketchbook spreads to explore simple techniques and get comfy with the paint + water ratio. then i move into a stylized portrait painting, building up the shapes, then slowly adding details and little touches that make it feel more “me.” it’s not about being perfect—it’s more about enjoying the layering, the softness, and the cozy vibe of watercolor. if you’ve been wanting to start painting but you’re scared to mess up, this is your sign to just warm up, test your colors, and have fun with it ♡
