I stayed at the Moonlight Hotel and paid $388.20 AUD for the month. That worked out to about $8.94 USD per night. The room had air-con, a big bed, and the building had elevators plus a small pool and a basic gym.

I kept it super local: pork bánh mì (30k) with fresh veggies, herbs, pâté and sauces, plus a young coconut (20k) on the beach. Later I had beef phở for 65k, which is a great price for a proper meal. The flavors are the best part—fresh herbs, tender beef, and that broth just works.

It’s definitely a city on the beach, with a skyline of high-rise apartments, hotels, and resorts right along the water. You get sunrise over the ocean, but in the afternoon the sun drops behind the mountains, so it’s not really a sunset beach. For the prices though, I can’t complain.

Yep—at least where I ate, beer was 12,000 VND and drinking water was 20,000 VND. So it was literally cheaper to drink a Saigon beer than a bottle of water. Make sense of that one.
