About This Video

Hey friends! In part 3 of swatching ALL of the Daniel Smith watercolors, I’m back at my desk doing what we love most—painting, swatching, and getting to know these colors in a super chill, no-pressure way. This series is all about discovery for me. I’m laying down clean swatches so we can really see each color’s personality, and I’m paying attention to the little things that matter when you actually paint—how a color looks in a wash, how it behaves when it’s diluted, and what kinds of mixes it makes you want to try right away. What I love about doing it this way is that it helps me build a real mental “color map” of the line. Instead of guessing from a tube or a dot card, I can compare swatches side-by-side and start spotting which colors feel like must-haves for a palette and which ones might be more niche. If you’re building a Daniel Smith palette (or just watercolor-curious), this is a fun way to see what might fit your style. And I really want to know—what were your favorites from today’s swatches?
