About This Video

Hey friends! In this relaxing paint-with-me, I’m going slow and keeping things super loose while I paint an abstract watercolor landscape. The goal isn’t a perfect “realistic” scene—it’s that calm, flowy process where we let soft washes, gentle transitions, and a few intentional blooms do the heavy lifting. I’m focusing on simple landscape shapes (sky, distant land, and foreground) and letting the water create those dreamy textures that make watercolor feel so magical. I’m using a handful of Daniel Smith colors that I really love for moody, granulating mixes—Purpurite Genuine, Undersea Green, and Hematite Genuine are especially fun when you want texture without overworking. I also pull in brighter notes with Cadmium Medium Yellow and Quinacridone Rose to keep the palette from going too flat. This is the kind of session where you can breathe, experiment, and remind yourself that watercolor is allowed to be messy and beautiful at the same time—just layer slowly, tilt your paper when you need to, and let it dry before you “fix” anything.
