In this video, I review the KZ Zenith and yeah—this is arguably the best KZ single dynamic driver IEM they’ve ever released, and it’s not even close. I walk you through the unboxing (KZ finally did more than a tiny crampy box), build, fit, and then the real meat: the sound. They even include a case now, which is honestly not very KZ to do. The foam tips feel cheap and the case opening is kinda meh, but overall the presentation is a legit step up. Sound-wise, the Zenith is basically “KZ neutral”—a tuning I didn’t think KZ would nail this well. The bass has a nice curve and body without being overly tucked, the mids are clean and not overly dipped, and the upper mids are very well controlled. Treble is generally fine with decent extension, but there’s still a bit of that edgy behavior (especially around that 8k area) that KZ sets can suffer from—though it’s not too intrusive unless you’re super treble sensitive. It’s not the most “fun” or most technical set under $60, but it’s versatile, well-built, and a solid step forward. I scored it 6.72 overall with an enjoyment score of 8, and it lands on the BAM OB approved tier.
