In this video I review the KZ AN01 Bluetooth module and why it’s kind of insane value for around $40. The pitch is simple: take your favorite IEMs, make them wireless, and on top of that you get ANC and transparency mode. I break down what you’re actually getting here—Bluetooth 5.4, LDAC support (yes, it showed up as LDAC on the device I used), the usual SBC/AAC, plus gaming mode with roughly 55ms latency. Now, about the big question: does the ANC and transparency really work? Yes, it’s there, and it does help—especially if your IEM already has good passive isolation—but it’s pretty “first gen” and rudimentary compared to dedicated TWS sets with more complex mic systems. Transparency is actually easier to notice than ANC, but neither one is going to blow your mind. I also talk about the main downside: it’s only available in QDC 0.75, which is annoying when most of the market is 0.78 2-pin, and adapters add cost and fit issues. Sound-wise, it’s clean and neutral with decent power, but don’t expect miracles for hard-to-drive sets, and keep in mind it can add around ~15 ohms of impedance to your IEM.
