In this video I answer the question a lot of you have been asking lately: are Kotori Audio IEMs even worth it? Kotori is a newer Sing-Fi brand (started in 2019) that’s been making noise in the budget space, and today I’m covering their two popular sets—the Kotori Vampire and Kotori Zephyr—plus a quick overview of what makes the brand stand out. I also talk about their mission (technical performance first, premium aesthetics naturally) and why, even as a young brand, they feel unusually “put together” in how they present their products. For the Vampire ($99), it’s my first single-BA IEM and it surprised me: instead of going bright and hyper-technical, it’s warm, lush, and relaxing. It doesn’t sound dark, but the treble is a bit rolled off, and the trade-off is that it’s not the most resolving set out there. For the Zephyr ($150), Kotori’s first hybrid (1DD+1BA), I get a uniquely tuned but very natural “reference” vibe—linear bass, clean mids, and treble that could be refined. The bigger takeaway: Kotori’s tuning philosophy and their reviewer guide/process show real intention, and I think they’ve got a lot of potential moving forward.
